Finding My Virginity - Pioneers at the book launch

Last week three lucky Pioneers @Ifeyinwa@soniameggie and @Shani came with us to fellow Pioneer Richard Branson’s book launch at the Troxy in London. What did they make of the event?

Attending the book launch left me feeling super inspired after hearing first hand all of the trials and tribulations he went through, to get to where he is today.

Determination is an understatement! I took away many lessons that I can apply to my business and the most important one and Richard's famous saying 'screw it, just do it!'

So, this week, I handed in my notice at work to focus on my startup full-time!

I really enjoyed Richard’s honesty and emphasis on the importance of family and their input into his empire. The fact that he is such a visionary and is willing to give anything a try (even if he risks his life) inspired me.

There are times when you feel pretty exhausted or despondent and his reminder to "keep going" was really appreciated.

I enjoyed the video from his son Sam, and that they are proactively trying to play their part to rebuild the islands devastated by the hurricane. I also admire that he is part of 'The Elders' and utilises his powerful contacts to impact global change.

The atmosphere in the venue was buzzing and filled with those who are keen to grow their brand or learn from Richard. I wish that I had flown the paper aeroplane with my business plan on the stage too!

I'm looking forward to reading his book during the half term.

My key takeaways from Richard’s Finding My Virginity book launch, which apply to both busines and life:

  • Don't take yourself too seriously
  • You will fall down. Failure is part of the process but keep going until you succeed
  • Follow your dreams. Do what you enjoy

Don’t worry if you were unable to attend the event. You can watch it here, paper aeroplane and everything! Richard also shared a very enthusiastic description of @coroflo team's brilliant technology for nursing mothers.
