I am currently carrying out research for a book I am writing about how young but stagnant businesses can become established successful enterprises. Whilst it is relatively easy to define the roles of Head of Marketing, Head of Finance, Operations Director etc, the role of Managing Director is not so easily defined. In the early days, typically the MD is engrossed in all of these activities and is often one of reasons that young businesses struggle. But what is his/her role when these functions are delegated to somebody else? I am therefore turning to respected business people for quotes for the book. If you would like to see yourself in print please contribute your thoughts. Thank you in advance.
