Introducing Nightire. The Urban Sleepwear Company.
1. Take on challenges- don't look at hurdles as mountains, try and make them molehills because it is all about perspective. This has been so handy for me to keep in mind this week as I am trying to finalise my supplier for the fabric and the actual manufacturing of the garments. It's been a bumpy road so far in trying to communicate with people who don't speak English as a first language, to try and find suppliers who can create the correct quality garment at the right price and at the desired quality levels, and to keep my wits about me thoroughout. I don't have a fashion background so it has been an intersting learning curve so far, sometime feeling like a bit of a comedy of errors but ah well.
2. Tell your story- I need to get my website and social media up and running, which I have pledged to do- I've been holding back here as the branding hasn't been completely finished yet but need to start telling my story, and especially the story behind the brand and why it was so necesary for me to launch Nightire. Harriet was hugely inspirational in pointing out that this, playing on the emotional reason behind the brand, is the most important part of my marketing.
3. Build the Brand- I need to finalise the branding before the end of this month, which I pledge to do. This has also been an interesting road as I have been working with a freelance designer on creating the branding- it's taken so much longer than I thought, we have made so many changes and then come back to square one, and then gone off on a tangent a bit with magpie tendencies... but hearing how to manage designers at this masterclass, was the nudge I needed to start pushing for results from the designer asap.
