My name is Johnny Aguirre from Costa Rica and about one year ago started my small business. I create and manage digital content, among the products that I have in the portfolio, is the Google Street View.
I had an idea of doing a street view for national parks, why? The landscape can change because of human intervention or natural causes ( Right now we have some active volcanos) another reason is that this technology provides the opportunity of seeing the place in VR. So those for some disability can virtually visit these amazing places.
The challenge here is the funding, local governments will not invest in this, because they are really behind to understand the benefits of this. If you have visited Costa Rica you will see that our roads are the worst, especially in rural areas. So it will take 10 to 20 years, not kidding, to start these governments adapting these technologies.
So I tried to make crowdfunding but when you request money from latin america gets difficult. I don't know if I am too idealistic but one we will regret not having 360 content that shows an ecosystem that for some reason changed.
Below you can see a test in the middle of the rainforest, this volcano is active and also these mountains were impacted by a hurricane, the before was not recorded, imagine if we would have done the images, this has scientific value.
