Hello, Fellow Voomers!
When I logged on today, I couldn't help noticing that there doesn't seem to have been much activity in this group of late.
I'd like to share what I'm doing, and get some input, but it's not clear to me that anybody would see my message, let alone somebody who might have relevant knowledge or experience.
So I'm making this post to see who might be out there.
I'd love to hear from you, especially if you're an author (as I am), work in publishing, media, and/or marketing.
And regardless of what type of business you have, or are starting, it would be great to hear from you!
Please take a moment to reply, say 'Hello', tell me about yourself, what you do, where you are in the world, (I'm in Silicon Valley), and what's going on with your business at the moment.

Morning Nanuchka, I noticed the same, its ever since @EmmaDingle left the group as admin. I'm in the UK, not an author but interested in what you write - do you have any examples?
I'm a Town Planner and currently looking at business growth which is taking me away from income generation, struggling to cope with being a one woman band, need an extra 12 hours in the day and a cople of more pairs of hands!
Kind regards Chris

Thanks for responding to my post. I didn't realize @EmmaDingle had left the group as admin.
I'm happy to make a new friend here on Voom Pioneers.
I'm currently doing research for, and beginning to write, my first book. It's titled 'This Calls For Fun'. It's about an entirely different approach to life: Rather than leading with our heads, planning, and efforting through things, 'This Calls For fun' is about relaxing, leading with our senses, and feeling our way to each new step.
If I understand you correctly, your job as a Town Planner is so demanding that taking care of yourself and your own well being including income is taking a back seat. Is that right?
Something that helps me is taking time to quiet my mind. I go for walks, and I spend about twenty minutes a day sitting quietly, listening to a sound that doesn't take much of my attention such as the hum of an air conditioner, and letting my thoughts gradually subside. If I can, I let my thoughts stop altogether for a minute or so. The effect is like rebooting a computer. It creates clarity, and allows new possibilities and solutions to arise. If this sounds good to you, you may like to give a try yourself.
Keep me posted on how you're doing!

I'm a company director in England. Our business is 'Durham Hens'. We sell laying hens for eggs to small flock keepers.
I love writing (as a hobby at for now). My first novel 'The Lead Miner's Daughter' was published in July - sales and reviews are very good. I'm working on the sequel now.
Best wishes to you

Thanks so much for responding to my post!
My only experience with hens was as a teen ager at school. One of the teachers kept a few in a pen, and taught me how to care for them. They're quite smart, and also affectionate. It sounds like an enjoyable business to be in.
That's great that you have your book out, and that it's doing well! I'm very happy for you.
Do you mind sharing a bit about how you went about it? Did you get a literary agent, and have it published with a publisher, or did you self publish? Also, what about marketing?
Look forward to hearing from you again!
Have a great Day.

It's published through a publisher, but I paid the costs.
I market it myself, mainly through local bookstores, events and social media. Because of my business background, I decided I didn't want to pay commission to an agent for something I can do myself.
My choice isn't for everyone. It's a risky thing to do, but I believed in it, and I've recouped my investment.
Good luck with your book

Thanks for sharing your experience with me. I really appreciate it.
Have you considered starting a YouTube channel, and making videos of yourself reading excerpts from your book? This was suggested to me by a professional YT marketer, and I'm seriously considering it myself.

Thanks for responding to my post. It's nice to meet you!
Your Life Tuner product sounds amazing. If you can share your website link that would be great.
Yes, I've thought about marketing, and I plan on marketing my book on social media. I've created a YouTube channel which I'm going to start out using for vlogging to create material that will be the basis for the content of my book, and I'll be creating a blog for this purpose as well. Once the book is finished and published, I'll also be able to use the YT channel and blog for various social media platforms.
If you have any specific ideas beyond what I'm currently developing, I'd appreciate your input! Thanks.

Thank you for your reply, vlogging is also a good option. What I would also suggest is, you can use pick up some curious and interesting topics from your content and share them, for example, a small video or post, to increase the curiosity of the audience. Like trailer of a very interesting film:-D.
Furthermore regarding social media, always focus on the interaction part of the post, because if you have more interaction on the post, you can attract the more organic audience.
I will keep sharing interesting things with you if I find something new.
You can share the link of our website with others as well. Life Tuner information, you will find on wellness page.
Please feel free to ask, if you have any query or questions, I would glad to help you.
I wish you the success and good luck.
