A Jam packed GEW 2016 week with set of masterclasses, learning is fun and meeting cool like minded people has reinforced why I do what I do with my business and direction I am leading my team. It's really a must to continue learning and being open to new ideas and approaches. There are no fixed ways of doing things in business. Its about breaking the norm and trying a different tact and why not, if it fails - fail fast and learn to do again - bigger and better. This brings me on to the focus of this month from learning about myself "taking on challenges", the Press and generating publicity to building the confidence over the week to refine the pitch for the business and myself piece. Therefore, by the end of ‘Growvember’ ~ #GEW2016, #VOOM I pledge to have done the following "challenges":
1. To get in the press "tell your story", earlier this month managed to achieve this, click here Setting up a business on £100 is possible #VOOM
However following the VM Pioneers week sessions with support of the founders pack i pushed to meet the Guardian (small business section editors - 23/11) to provide a story on going digital to access another channel for revenue generation. ARTICLE - hopefully released this Thursday 1 Dec - The Guardian online.
2. Build your Brand - We hit 1000 followers on 25/11!!! whopeee @TSticksUK
We did it after our pledge of Building the brand
3. "Change the world" - making the scarce resource of water come to the forefront of the attention of our stakeholders through our innovative pioneering innovative products. changing-business-good-through-core-values and reduce water wastage. I pledged for production of a 40 foot container - thinking big half way there I filled a 20foot shipping container! Here is the proof of the pudding. in a 20foot container we can fill just under 1/2 million T-Sticks. Total to be exact 472950 (150 sticks per case - 3153 cases in the container)
The 20 foot container production! - Think big
That's a lot of tea!
Is the world ready for a storm in a tea cup?
I think so, we are going to make it happen! I hope you do too! - Clean Sinks, no tea spoons to wash - Save water!
Stirring up a storm in a tea cup
No spoon
No drips
No mess
therefore consumer and business empowerment.
NB . I pushed My self that little bit extra
3.b bonus pledge - to pitch and speak to an audience of 200 at cambridge university - judge business school Tuesday 29/11 in the evening now that's scary. They will share video footage and pics with me they said. I will be interviewed by the president of the college Jackie Ashley.
"If someone gives you an opportunity say yes and figure out how to do it later" - R.Branson
best wishes
Ricky

We all need a kick up the backside and goals to aspire to achieving so keep the challenges coming. It's the only way to survive push outside comfort zone. Next stop USA and exploring the digital world as a way to get connected and reach new platforms.

What would you say has been the most challenging part of achieving your pledges this month?

The most challenging was to be brave to get the client to agree to
a 40'foot container I sold it with a compromise to 20foot to get the deal down with a proviso by end of qtr 1 2017 they will place the other 20foot full order. The changing the world starts with small steps leading to bigger jumps. It took hours of negotiations, stand up pitches and comms with various parties involved assurances and materials all lined up. We got the Purchase order now the real work begins !

I was very inspired by the Tuesday session as it taught me one does not need to spend big PR money early on especially when we haven't got! Harriet Minter was very impressive and the ideas to Try and generate our own PR so finding the opportunities myself to tell the relevant story to a interested audience doing similar / on similar journey helps. We can then grow the business credibility.
