We import a few items mainly from the USA and Germany, but these are standard stock items. We also source a large number of custom made items, but they're all made within 40 miles of our office. (Probably 65-70% of the total value)
I couldn't imagine it any other way! We can pop in and have a look at samples, explain and discuss ideas in a way that emailing a drawing and phoning doesn't quite satisfy. It just quicker and less room for confusion. There's also still a lot to be said about dealing with people face to face. Do any of you use local suppliers?
