Please avoid these people who will call you out the blue and offer you funding. I was nearly scammed.
I had researched and also been in touch with Action Fraud.
They will mislead you and try to make you believe that you are entitled to a non-payback grant. They promised me £15,000.
I was later told that I would need to sign up with a Master Card and that I would need to put 30% of my own funds into the account. The account and card is provided by them. This is where I would have ended up losing my funds and there would have been no £15,000 this is all a con. I had got in touch with the Office of Fair Trading who investigate this sort of scams. I had been advised not to have anything to do with this and keep my own funds where they should be otherwise I would end up being scammed. They had informed me if it sounds too good to be true and it definitely is. They told me this was definitely a scam and these people are under investigation.
NO LEGIT FUNDING WOULD EVERY BE PAID THROUGH MASTER CARD. MASTER CARD IS USED A LOT BY CRIMINALS.
Business Grants are saying that the Funding will be paid by Haven Funds, this is fake. Do not fall for this!
These people are nasty and need to be put in prison. They say they are based in Woking. They are fakes and have managed to register with Companies House.

This site name here is an absolute con and scamming site: www.grantsandfunding.org.uk They canvass you by calling your small businesses and act very professional and well spoken, asking whether you need any government funding for your business. They claim the government give them funding to allocate to people who need, and no need to pay it back, as all is free. They groom you, and fail to tell you from the very start about having to pay any fees of 30 per cent until approx 2 weeks later when you are close to be being approved they say. It's all a leading up process and techniques to steal your hard earned cash.
An interview is carried out over the telephone, and you hear them typing as if they are in an office, and all sounds legitimate, phones and office staff in background. They make an appointment with you over the phone for this interview, and advise they will send you an appointment to link to your outlook calendar. NEVER ALLOW THEM ACCESS TO YOUR CALENDAR. They also communicate to you via email , and all appears genuine with their website address and email address and glossy brochure. It is done in way to get you the victim all excited to think that the government have all this free money to give away to small businesses, AND yet people must start to think, hold on a minute, the government can't even assist students, or emergency services in public sector with cost of living, so how on earth are the government able to assist small time business owners. All appears like this company is offering you a lifeline, claiming they have other partners working with them who allocate the funds once approved. One of their main partners which sticks out is HAVEN FUNDING PLC. STOP AND THINK: This day and age the government have hit public sector with many many cuts, privatised lots of services such as ROYAL MAIL, want to close down hospitals and our NHS is in shambles. Legal Aid have seen deep cuts and DWP have lost jobs with new Universal Credit another cost cutting exercise to save money, poor people who have to claim benefits have also seen their benefits cut, so you must question where on earth this money is coming from. OBVIOUSLY THERE IS NO MONEY, IT IS NOT REAL, SO DO NOT BE FOOLED.
They lead you up with their strategy, you get a phone call to say you have been approved and they will send you the form for you to sign acceptance, and then go on to bring up about the pre-paid mastercard to be set up, as though this is a normal method of payment for the everyday normal human being who runs a business. Think about it, do you invoice your clients or customers to pay you for your jobs on pre paid Master cards? No you do not. This is where your intuition must kick in, it is indeed a scam I am sorry to say. They claim from their emails they send you afterwards in their wording to be the co-signatory, and you will pay 30 per cent of the funding they claim you have been approved for. So for example if they claim to allocate 15,000 pounds funding for a van, you need to upload 30 per cent of 15,000, (do the maths).
They claim is set up like this to deter you (the small business owner) from being tempted to spend the funding on a holiday! What a load of cobblers. If it were real and you went ahead and spent it on a holiday, as if you would even have the time to go on holiday being a small business trying to make ends meet with your business, in normal circumstances, and you would be liable to pay back all the money if you carried out such an act, and be due to criminal action for misrepresentation of prosecution. So if they can't trust you, using a rubbish example that you may spend on holiday, as opposed to saying, 'you would be liable to prosecution', why should you trust them? Government schemes would never ever give you a pre-paid mastercard for anything. Normally a giro, cheque or bacs payment is what you would get it you applied for anything through the Government or charity organisations for help. Example, imagine you are on benefits struggling, and your relative or friend is doing some time in prison, you go to visit them but struggle with the costs of travel. You apply for help with travel through approved prison visits scheme. They (weeks later) reimburse you your funds for travel through a giro cheque or bacs payment. The reimbursements are never in form of pre-paid mastercard! These people are actually giving MASTERCARD a bad name!
Individuals can register for pre-paid Mastercard for uploading with money and using to purchase over internet shopping and in stores. These are with no credit checks for these pre-paid cards. They are normally for people with poor credit history who cannot get a real Mastercard/credit card through their own bank. A pre-paid Mastercard is also ideal for young people, where the parent uploads pocket money to the credit card, so the young person can order on line, or use in shops for items they want. These companies who run the cards, such as Prime Card, and lots of other names for the usage of the Mastercard, charge extortionate prices for annual fees in having the card and for each transaction made. These scammers have found some kind of loop hole to link their scamming with this method, purely for you to believe it is all legitimate.
I checked their website, there are many mistakes, and they mention about the Calofornia Act, which has nothing to do with the UK and our law. Most importantly, they are not regulated by THE FINANCIAL CONDUCT AUTHORITY. Solicitors practices are regulated, banks regulated by the FCA. All financial institutitions are regulated including financial advisers (independent ones). Never use if never regulated. This scam company are not regulated by any institution, they are an illegal enterprise, carrying out fraudulent criminality.
Any limited company can register with Companies House which is what they have done, and pretend to obtain your trust, claiming once you put the 30 per cent to the card (which they have power over), you will get your full amount of funding you have been approved for. They will literally claw the 30 per cent funds you upload, and you never see it again or hear from the criminals again. They run away with your 30 per cent cash. THERE IS NO GRANT, it is all deceiving you with lies. Always speak to the Financial conduct authority first, who have many reports about these scams.
In fact people have actually fallen for the scam as per some of these threads on this forum.
This company Grants and funding claim to have partners, one called Haven Plc who are the responsible for delegating the so called 'non existent grant'. There is no grant.
Contact Action Fraud and NEVER EVER PART to a pre-paid mastercard, If they were real and genuine, the money would be sent by bacs payment to the supplier of the materials you need. So for example, if you obtaining a van from a showroom for your small business, the payment would be made by bacs payment to the showroom, not on a Mastercard.
BEWARE OF THESE CRIMINAL ACTS AND DO NOT PART WITH ANY MONEY. REPORT TO FCA AND ACTION FRAUD.
